Updating X-Charge from versions 4.x through 6.x

Follow the steps below to update your X-Charge software:

Note: The following steps MUST be run on ALL computers/terminals that have X-Charge software installed!

  1. Open the X-Charge client and select "Check for update..." in the Help menu.

    (If your "Check for update..." option is grayed out, click here.)

  2. You will be told that an internet connection is required. If you are connected to the internet, then click on "Yes". If you are not connected, then connect to the internet and then click on "Yes".

  3. Once an internet connection has been verified you will be shown a window with the updates that are available for your current version of X-Charge. To begin the update process click on the "Update Now" button.

  4. If there are no updates available then you will get the following window.

    No further update is needed at this time.

  5. Once the update is downloaded to your computer, you will be asked to confirm your desire to update.

  6. You will receive a message saying that you must exit the X-Charge client before you can proceed. Leave this window open and close the X-Charge client. Once the client is closed go back to this window and click on "OK".

  7. X-Charge will begin installing.

  8. Once the installation is complete you will be asked to restart your computer. Click on "OK" when you are ready to restart. Once the system has restarted your update is complete.

  9. There is also an option to have X-Charge automatically check for updates. Go the Schedule Events tab in the X-Charge Server setup. From here you can set what time the X-Charge server will go and check for updates.

  10. If an update is available you will receive this message. Click on the "Yes" button to install the update.
